The production will embark on a UK tour this September.

Headlong has announced the lead cast for its production of Fences, directed by Daniel Bailey, in a co-production with Leeds Playhouse, Lyric Hammersmith Theatre and HOME Manchester.
In this first production of August Wilson’s play in the UK in more than a decade, the cast will be led by Ray Fearon as Troy Maxson and Madeline Appiah as Rose. They are joined by Michael Ahomka-Lindsay as Lyons and Josh Tedeku as Cory.
Troy Maxson has cheated death once, but the past keeps closing in. On Pittsburgh’s streets, he cracks jokes and spins stories, yet at home, the pressure is building.
His wife, Rose holds the family together. She sees a changing world and hopes their son Cory might step into it with more freedom than Troy ever had. But when dreams collide, and tempers flare, the Maxsons edge towards a reckoning that could reshape everything they know.
The production will open at Leeds Playhouse from 11 to 26 September before visiting Oxford Playhouse, Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, HOME Manchester and Nottingham Playhouse.
Meanwhile, the creative team behind this revival includes: set and costume designer Lily Arnold, composer and sound designer Khalil Madovi, lighting designer Jai Morjaria, movement director Shelley Maxwell, fight director Kev McCurdy, design associate Emily King, casting director Heather Basten, voice and dialect coach Aundrea Fudge and associate director Amber Ruby.
