NEWS: Universal Pictures & Focus Features Launch Official Trailer for ‘Sense & Sensibility’

The first trailer for Georgia Oakley’s film adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic story has been released, offering a first glimpse of Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood, the eldest sister of three who have to find their own way in the world in the wake of their father’s death.

It is a story that is filled with love and heartbreak as Elinor and Marion adapt to their new circumstances along with their widowed mother and youngest sister Margaret as they move to the country.

Joining Edgar-Jones in Oakley’s film is: Esmé Creed-Miles, Caitríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, George MacKay, Herbert Nordrum, Bodhi Rae Breathnach and Fiona Shaw.

Sense and Sensibility has been adapted for this film by Diana Reid

This new Jane Austen adaptation is being produced by  Working Title Films, known for its romantic comedies such as “Love Actually” and “Bridget Jones’ Diary”  alongside previous Jane Austen adaptations such as  2005’s “Pride & Prejudice” with Keira Knightley and 2020’s “Emma” starring Anya Taylor-Joy.

Oakley’s first film feature “Blue Jean,” earned her nominations for a BAFTA Film Award and a British Independent Film Award.
