NEWS: Little Angel Theatre Announces Autumn/Winter 2026 Season

The Little Angel Theatre has announced its Autumn/Winter season for young audiences, which wil feature a mixture of brand-new work and the return of beloved classics, both at the theatre, on tour and abroad.

Among the shows announced as part of the season are:

● The World Premiere of Pip and Posy Live on Stage (for ages 2-5), inspired by the BAFTA nominated animated series and based on the much-loved picture books by multi-award-winning illustrator Axel Scheffler (TheGruffalo), will be brought to life by Olivier nominated duo Samantha Lane and Barb Jungr (Toto The Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape). Little Angel Theatre from 19 September – 22 November, and then tour the UK.

● The Pied Piper: A Rat’s Tale (for everyone over 5) is a funny and imaginative family show that reveals the story behind the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Little Angel Studios, 12 September – 7 November 2026

● Over the festive season family favourite Scruff’s Christmas Adventure (for ages 3-8) returns to Little Angel Theatre as well as touring schools and community spaces from 28 November 2026 – 3 January 2027. The Snowflake (for ages 2-5), based on the timeless Christmas story by Benji Davies, runs at Little Angel Studios, 21 November 2026 – 23 January 2027.

● Little Angel’s work on the road will include Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape (for everyone over 5), a new musical based on Dermot O’Leary’s best-selling children’s book, adapted by Samantha Lane and Barb Jungr, which tours nationwide from 23 July – 1 November 2026 (full dates and venues: Toto the Ninja Cat — The Great Snake Escape | Tour).

● Further afield, Little Angel’s popular stage adaptation of Eileen Browne’s classic picture book Handa’s Surprise (for ages 2-5) heads to Sydney Opera House (28 September – 2 October) as part of the Wild Things International Kids Festival.

● As part of 65th anniversary celebrations this summer, Little Angel will host a Q&A panel discussion (23 August) All Strings Attached: Marionettes and the Work of Keeping a Craft Alive bringing together members of the puppetry community to celebrate the importance of marionettes and outline Little Angel’s plans to secure the future of the craft. There will also be a screening of short documentary film Untangling, exploring the power of puppetry.
