We have now visited the city twice and have fallen in love with many aspects of it. Here’s a few things that you should do if you are planning a trip there…

Dinner & classical concert at the Schönbrunn Palace:
Having done this for my birthday, this is such a magical experience to have. Austria and of course Vienna is renowned for its classical music, with plenty of concerts available to book tickets for across the city. However, I do highly recommend that you do this one as being in the audience for this concert at the Schönbrunn Palace offers an experience that makes you feel like you are stepping back into history and how the royalty at the time would have experienced it in their own home.
Explore the numerous green spaces that the city has to offer:
Among the many delights that the city has to offer is the gorgeous green spaces to enjoy at your leisure, usually situated in places that offer dramatic views of the stunning architecture. Each green space offers something unique and special. Our personal favourite is around the Belvedere palace in which there are plenty of lovly little spots that you can have to yourself – perfect for quiet reflection and for reading a book we might add!
Paying a visit to the Sisi Museum:
The Empress Elisabeth of Austria was a royal who was simply ahead of her time in many different ways and is a fascinating personality to find out more about as this extraordinarily well curated museum proves. You are really given a chance to understand her life through many different objects etc that capture what her life was like effectively.
Take a trip to the Schönbrunn zoo:
This is the world’s oldest still functioning zoo and with the types of buildings that you see really captures this. It is certainly the grandest zoo that we have been to. History and conservation work in perfect harmony here – it is a great place to spend the day.
Wonder around the city at your own pace:
This is a city that is really easy to enjoy at your own pace – plus there are plenty of surprises along the way to ensure that you have a completely unique experience of this city which has such a vast history and culture to it that it takes complete pride in. With plenty of places to enjoy food, history and culture, you can sense that it is also a city that takes pride in every aspect it has to offer.
