The production will run at the theatre’s Borough location from the 9th September until the 3rd October.
Complete casting has now been confirmed for Max Wilkinson’s Night City which will officially open at the Southwark Playhouse on the 11th September.
Directed by Ebenezer Bamgboye, this production is set to star: Jack Ambrose (Industry – HBO/BBC; Red Eye – ITV), Helena Pipe (Blues for an Alabama Sky – National Theatre; The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind – RSC/West End) and Bex Smith (The Good Ship Murder – Channel 5; Coronation Street – ITV) will who play Jack, Tamara and Riva respectively.
Meet Jack, driving for GoGo Cars, charged by cheap speed and star ratings, only living for himself. That is until he meets Tia, a waitress and budding writer determined to turn London into the city of her dreams. And Tamara, a carer, who makes a fatal error one night and plunges all their lives into chaos.
On the casting, writer Max Wilkinson says “Collectively and individually, Helena, Bex and Jack all bring the toughness, humour and sensitivity that is Night City, bringing raw energy to a complex piece. It’s going to be a great show, I can’t wait to see it.”
Meanwhile, Director Ebenezer Bamgboye added “I am thrilled to be working with this cast. They are three brilliant, explosive, energetic performers and you will love spending an evening with them.”
The creative team also includes: Olivia Jamieson (set and costume), Arnim Friess (lighting and video), David Lewington (sound), Rose Ryan (movement director) and Fran Cattaneo (casting director).
