NEWS: Megan Hilty & Rachel Tucker to Star in Concert Production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

It has been announced that Megan Hilty (Death Becomes HerWicked9 to 5: The Musical and Smash) and Rachel Tucker (WickedCome From AwaySunset Boulevard) are set to star in a concert production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Hilty will play Lorelei Lee and Tucker Dorothy Shaw in the production, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle. 

The concert will have three performances at the London Palladium on the 26th and 27th March and feature an orchestra of 30 musicians.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Leo Robin, and a book by Anita Loos and Joseph Fields.  It includes classic songs such as “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”, “A Little Girl from Little Rock” and “Bye Bye Baby”. It was also a film starring Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell.

The story is set on and ocean liner travelling to Paris, following the romantic turmoils of Lorelei and Dorothy. It was first seen on Broadway 949, with Carol Channing originating the role of Lorelei.

This concert production’s creative team includes: musical director Alan Williams, set and costume designer Rebecca Brower, lighting designer Zoe Spurr, associate choreographer Joanna Goodwin and associate director Mark Hedges. Ensemble casting is by Pearsons Casting, with general management by QUBE Theatricals.
