The revival of the play, written by James Alexandrou, Kate Kelly Flood and Dominic Morgan will run at the venue for one week on from the 24th November to the 19th December.
It has been announced that former Eastenders stars Louisa Lytton and James Alexandrou will reunite on stage for this revival of ‘Casserole’ for one week only at the Playhouse East, a venue c.o-founded by Alexandrou.
‘Can love exist between two people with diametrically opposing views on the afterlife?’
…Kate’s had another panic attack. She’s convinced her dead mother is sending her signs and needs Dom’s help to understand what it all could mean—only to find Dom eating the biggest sign yet: the last casserole her mother ever made.
Directed by Alexandrou, the play has been developed over the last five years through improvisational workshops at Playhouse East. Early on in its development, Casserole earned critical acclaim during its run at the Arcola Theatre, garnering three Off West End Award nominations including Best New Play, Best Duo Performance and Best Set Design.
This 2026 production is a complete, fully realised reimagining of the play, created specifically for Playhouse East’s intimate 84-seat theatre.
The creative team is comprised of producer Avital Lvova for Playhouse East, set designer Adrian Makarewicz, costume designer Katie McGoldrick, lighting designer Kit Mackenzie, sound designer Rumble Post, stage managers Esme Pitman and Michael Seabrook, production manager Nathan Lee and set builder Rommel Rasheed.
