Singer Pixie Lott is to take on the role of Holly Golightly in a new production of Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the Theatre Royal Haymarket next year.
The West End run of the production will take place following a UK tour of the show, which will open at the Curve Theatre in Leicester on the 3rd March 2016.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s has been adapted for the stage by the Olivier-award winning playwright Richard Greenberg (Take me Out, Three Days of Rain) who explained: ” The goal of this vision is to return to the original setting of the novella, which is the New York of the Second World War, as well as to resume its tone- still stylish and romantic, yes, but rougher-edged and more candid than people remember.”
The show will be directed by Nikolai Foster, the Artistic Director of Curve who commented: “Developing new audiences for drama and presenting plays which are socially relevant, are things we feel passionately about at Curve.”
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is best known for the 1961 Audrey Hepburn film, which won two Oscars (Best Original Score and Best Original Song for Moon River).
Pixie Lott said: “I am so excited to play Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s in my first West End play. I absolutely love Holly’s style, and free spirit; she has always been an icon to me and I can’t wait to bring my own personality to the role.”
The show will arrive at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on the 30th June 2016 until 17th September, with further tour dates and casting to be announced. For more information on the show and to book tickets visit: http://www.breakfastattiffanys.co.uk/
