Following on from the announcement that Pixie Lott will be playing the role of Holly Golightly, a role made famous by Audrey Hepburn, in a new production of Truman Capote’s novel it has been revealed that Verity Rushworth will also be playing the role on the UK tour from the 2nd May to the 11th June 2016.
She will be appearing at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Theatre Royal Bath, Glasgow Theatre Royal, King’s Theatre Edinburgh and Wycombe Swan. Pixie Lott will be playing Holly on other dates which can be found here.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s has been adapted for the stage by Richard Greenberg and contains memorable songs from the era as well as original music by Grant Olding.

Verity Rushworth is best known for her role as Donna Windsor on ITV’s Emmerdale, a role for which she won a British Soap Award at this year’s ceremony. Her previous theatre credits include Velma Kelly in Chicago (Leicester Curve), Maria in The Sound of Music (national tour) and Penny Pingleton in Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre).
Set in New York during 1943, Capote’s novella follows the story of Fred a young writer who meets Holly Golightly – a charming and a good-time girl. Everybody falls in love with Holly – including Fred who is poor in comparison to many of her other suitors such as a playboy millionaire and the future president of Brazil. But Holly soon begins to fall in love with Fred – just as her past begins to catch up with her.
Talking about her new role, Verity Rushworth said: ” I am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to play the dream role of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I cannot wait to step into the fabulous shoes of such an icon and discover the endless layers to her complicated and fascinating personality – not to mention her wardrobe!”
The production will be directed by Nikolai Foster, the Artistic Director of Leicester Curve, with production design by Matthew Wright, lighting design by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Mic Pool.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s will open at the Curve Theatre in Leicester on the 3rd March before embarking on a UK and Ireland tour. There will then be a 12 week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London from the 30th June to the 17th September 2016.
