Hit Musical Sunny Afternoon Extends Booking Period By Six Months

The award winning Kinks musical has announced that it has extended its booking period for another six months, with tickets now available to buy until 16th April 2016.

This multi-Olivier Award-winning musical tells the story of the rise to fame of The Kinks and features a number of their greatest hits such as ‘Waterloo Sunset’, ‘Lola’ and ‘You Really Got Me’.

Sunny Afternoon won four awards at this year’s Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (John Dagleish), Best Supporting Actor in a Musical (George Maguire) and Ray Davies for Outstanding Achievement in Music.

Following a sold-out run at the Hampstead Theatre, this production opened at the Harold Pinter Theatre on the 28th October 2014. It features music and lyrics by Ray Davies, new book by Joe Penhall and is directed by Edward Hall.

Olivier winning cast members Dagleish and Maguire will remain in their roles until 3rd October 2015 – further casting has yet to be announced.

I may keep saying this but having heard so many good things and watched their performance at the Olivier Awards this year, I really am desperate to go along and see this – so I will be looking at tickets for sure!
