The Old Vic Theatre has announced the casting for Dr.Seuss’s The Lorax, the third production in Matthew Warchus’ opening season as Artistic Director of the Old Vic.
Directed by by Max Webster and adapted by David Greig, the production is inspired by Dr.Seuss’s classic tale about a cantankerous critter on a mission to protect the earth from the greedy and tree-chopping business man known as Once-ler.
Blending songs, a crazy sense of humour with theatrical invention the production is designed by Rob Howell and features music by Charlie Fink.
The cast will include Simon Lipkin (I Can’t Sing, Assassins) playing the role of the Lorax , alongside puppeteers Laura Cubitt and Ben Thompson, while Simon Paisley Day takes the role of the Once-ler.
