As one of the greatest dancers in his generation, Carlos Acosta approaches the end of his career with the Royal Ballet, he will return to the London Coliseum to celebrate highlights from his career with the company.
From the 8th to the 13th of December, the London Coliseum will be presenting A Classical Selection that will include some of his memorable performances from across his 24 year career as a dancer on the London stage.
The production itself will follow a similar format to his Olivier award winning 2006 show Carlos Acosta with Guests of the Royal Ballet, but this time featuring a new selection of classical works.
Carlos Acosta has put together a programme of works that will feature guest artists from the Royal Ballet, presenting his favourite pieces from the classical repertoire. At the London Coliseum, Acosta will be joined by the likes of Marianela Nunez, Zenaida Yanowsky and Thiago Soares.
Extracts to be performed in these special performances will include: Kenneth MacMillan’s Winter Dreams, George Balanchine’s Agon, August Bournonville’s La Sylphide and Diana & Acteon by Agrippina Vaganova. The full list of programme details have yet to be announced.
The production has been co-produced by Sadler’s Wells and Valid Productions.
