As tickets go on sale for Aladdin, Disney Theatrical Productions have announced that Dean John-Wilson will play the role of Aladdin alongside Jade Ewen as Jasmine in the West End premiere of the classic Disney animated film.

Aladdin will open at the Prince Edward Theatre on Wednesday 15th June, with previews from Friday 27th May. Tickets are on general sale to the public now for performances up to and including 1st October 2016.
Joining Jade Ewen and Dean John-Wilson in the cast are Don Gallagher as Jafar, Peter Howe as Iago, Irvine Iqbal as the Sultan, Nathan Amzi as Babak, Stephen Rahman-Hughes as Kassim and Rachid Sabitri as Omar. Previously announced Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas will be making his London debut as Genie.

Dean John-Wilson has previously appeared in Tim Rice’s From Here to Eternity, the UK tour of Sister Act and the critically acclaimed Here Lies Love at the National Theatre.
Jade Ewen made her professional stage debut in Disney’s The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre and has gone on to appear in Porgy and Bess (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre) and In the Heights (King’s Cross Theatre).
Featuring the much loved songs from the original 1992 animated film as well as new music by Alan Menken, Aladdin is heading into its second year on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre, where it has been seen by approximately one million people.
The production features lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin, who also created the book for the show. It is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, whose previous credits include The Book of Mormon (Broadway) and Elf: The musical (Broadway).
Aladdin is designed by seven-time Tony-award winner Bob Crowley, features lighting designed by Natasha Katz, costume designs by Gregg Barnes and sound designed by Ken Travis.
