David Ian Productions has announced that Darren Day will be starring as Tick in the hit musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert when it arrives at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking from the 15th to the 27th February 2016.
The actor and singer will also be playing Tick when the tour visits the Theatre Royal in Plymouth (9th-14th May) and Venue Cymru in Llandudno (16th-21st May). He is sharing the role on tour with Duncan James (Blue) and Jason Donovan.
His previous roles on stage include: Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Danny in Grease and Don in Summer Holiday.
Priscilla the Queen of the Desert currently also stars Simon Green as ‘Bernadette’, Adam Bailey as ‘Felicia’ and Philip Childs as ‘Bob’.
The smash hit musical is a warm hearted story of three friends who hop on board a battered old bus searching for love and friendship but ending up with more than they bargained for. Filled with crazy costumes and a medley of classic hits such as ‘Say a Little Prayer’, ‘Go West’ and ‘Hot Stuff’, Priscilla is a fresh and funny musical that celebrates friendship and great music.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert the musical originally opened in Australia and after a two year run, headed to London’s West End and Broadway in the United States. It has won numerous awards over the years including Olivier and Tony awards.
