The Olivier Award nominated hit musical Kinky Boots will be releasing a live recording , featuring the London cast through Sony Masterworks on the 1st April. 

The album was recorded live at the Adelphi Theatre and will be available to buy from the 1st April and pre-order from the 11th March.

Kinky Boots has been warmly received in London when it opened at the Adelphi Theatre last year and has won a number of awards including the London Evening Standard BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical and the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical.

The musical has also recently been nominated for seven Olivier awards including Best Costume Design, Autograph Sound Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music, Best Theatre Choreographer, MasterCard Best New Musical, Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Amy Lennox), and two nominations for Best Actor in a Musical (Killian Donnelly and Matt Henry).

Inspired by true events, Kinky Boots includes songs by Cyndi Lauper and a book by  Broadway legend and four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, in a production directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.

Kinky Boots takes audiences  from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Charlie Price (Killian Donnelly) is struggling to live up to his father’s expectations and continue the family business of Price & Son. With the factory’s future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola (Matt Henry), a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.
