PREVIEW: H.M.S. Pinafore, UK Tour

Regan De Wynter Williams’ all male production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore is getting ready for a UK tour.

Running from April to July, including dates at the Cambridge Arts Theatre (20th-23rd April) and Hackney Empire (27th April-1st May), this extensive tour will allow many more audiences the opportunity to see the show live.

The production is set in the hold of a World War II battleship and sees a cast of 16 play burly sailors as well as their lady visitors. A frisky but heartfelt production, it was inspired by director Sasha Regan’s experiences of performing Gilbert and Sullivan in a single sex school.

It is one of the most popular Gilbert and Sullivan operas that deals with love between the social classes and is filled with infectious tunes and well structured libretto that works well with the creative team’s style.

As well as being directed by Sasha Regan, the creative team includes: choreographer Lizzi Gee, designs by Ryan Dawson-Laight and lighting designed by Tim Deiling.

Meanwhile the cast will include: Tom Senior, Tom Irish, James Waud, Neil Moors, David Mckechnie, Michael Burgen and Richard Russell Edwards.

H.M.S Pinafore will start on its UK tour on the 20th April at the Cambridge Arts Theatre and close on the 23rd July at the the Curve in Leicester. For more information and to book tickets visit: http://www.allmalehms.com/
