London will be filled with Latin American spirit this May as Chile’s largest music festival prepares to take over the city for the very first time.
Taking place at Studio 338 in Greenwich on the 28th May, the festival will showcase some of Latin America’s biggest stars along with local artists to celebrate Latin American music.
The festival was originally created in 2013 in Santiago, Chile to bring together some of the best Latin music styles that can be currently be heard and is considered to be one of the most important Latin music events set up in South America.
Having been a huge success in Chile since its formation, it has now been allowed to give London audiences an opportunity to hear the best up and coming Latin American artists perform live as well as providing the musicians an opportunity to perform outside their native countries.
Frontera Festival London will feature some of the biggest artists from across Latin America, including Puerto Rican reggae band Cultura Profetica (Prophetic Culture) that boasts over 35 million views on its official YouTube channel, Argentinian electro-pop band Miranda!, massively influential Brazilian psychedelic rock band Os Mutantes, Chilean singer-songwriter Gepe, Spanish rock band La Fuga and multicultural indie-folk outfit Jenny & The Mexicats.
Organisers of the Frontera Festival commented; “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing such a well respected festival brand to the UK for the first time. Frontera represents the very best in Latin American music and we’re excited to be building a bridge between South America and London, one of the culture capitals of the world. The inaugural Frontera Festival UK will be the perfect opportunity for Londoners, whether they be local or expat, to immerse themselves in South American food, music and culture.”
