A live interactive videogame that is part comedy and part theatre arrives at the Southbank as part of the Udderbelly Festival on the 28th May.
Starting four years ago as an online interactive web game, stand-up comedian John Robertson created and posted his choose-your-own-adventure-game on YouTube called The Dark Room.
Following its success, Robertson then took it a step further in 2012 by converting it into a live show at the Edinburgh Festival in which a whole roomful of people awake to find themselves in a dark room. The success of this show has meant that it has returned to the Fringe every year since.
You awake to find yourself in a Dark Room! You, the audience must choose an option – Will you A) Find The Light Switch B) Cry For Help c) Go North? Come and play the world’s only live-action text based adventure game! It’s a choose-your-own adventure, so choose it! After 4 million YouTube hits, 10 crowd-surfs, 4 death threats and sell-out shows from Edinburgh Fringe to Australia – cult hit THE DARK ROOM returns to London!
The Dark Room appears at the Udderbelly Festival for one show only on the 28th May at 7.45pm. For more information and to book tickets visit: http://www.udderbelly.co.uk/whats-on/the-dark-room.
