Directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood, the UK touring production of Sister Act has announced further casting ahead of its opening at the Curve in Leicester next month.
Joining the previously announced Alexandra Burke in this feel good musical will be Joanna Francis, Jon Robyns , Karen Mann and Rosemary Ashe.
Meanwhile, further casting also includes: Aaron Lee Lambert, Sarah Goggin,Susannah Van Den Berg , Allison Harding, Ricky Rojas,Samuel Morgan-Grahame and Sandy Grigelis.
Based on the smash hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith, the musical tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder. Under protective custody she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found – a convent! Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
Opening at the Curve in Leicester on the 30th July, the tour will also visit: Leeds, Manchester, Sunderland, Birmingham, Bristol and Woking among other places, finishing in Canterbury on the 1st July 2017.
Alexandra Burke will be participating in all evening performances. In the matinee performances, the role of Deloris will be played by Joanna Francis.
As well as being directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood, the creative team for the production also includes: musical supervision and arrangements by Tony Award-Winner Sarah Travis , set and costume design is by Matthew Wright, with lighting design by Richard G Jones and sound design by Richard Brooker.
Sister Act features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, with a book by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner and additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane. The musical is based on the Touchstone Pictures Motion Picture “Sister Act” written by Jacob Howard.
