New images for the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s production of The Entertainer have been released, ahead of its first performance at the Garrick Theatre on the 20th August.

The final production in the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s year long season at the Garrick Theatre plays at the theatre from the 20th August until the 12th November.

The production, directed by Rob Ashford, will see Kenneth Branagh star as Archie Rice alongside Phil Dunster as Graham, Gawn Grainger as Billy Rice, Jonah Hauer-King as Frank Rice, Crispin Letts as Brother Bill, Sophie McShera as Jean Rice and Greta Scacchi as Phoebe Rice. Further casting also includes: Lauren Alexandra, Yasmin Harrison, Pip Jordan and Kate Tydman as dancers.

The Entertainer is set against the backdrop of post-war Britain and conjures up the seedy glamour of the old music halls to examine public masks and private torments. First performed at the Royal Court Theatre in 1957, the play follows Archie Rice a failing music hall performer.
For those who are unable to come to London to watch the production, Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company, in partnership with Picturehouse Entertainment, are broadcasting the production to cinemas worldwide on the 27th October. For more information visit: http://the-entertainer.branaghtheatrelive.com/.
