Arriving in UK cinemas from the 30th September, Southside With You is a recreation of how one first date between Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson would later change history.
Richard Tanne makes his directorial debut with this charming and romantic film about how first year law associate Barack Obama (Parker Sawyers) takes reluctant attorney Michelle Robinson (Tika Sumpter) on a day trip in and around Chicago’s South Side in 1989.
Although the pair don’t realise it at the time, they will soon make history together and this film tells of where their story together began.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is due to be released in the UK on the 30th September.
