The O2 have confirmed that a Star Wars Identities: The Exhibition will be arriving at the venue from November.
Opening on the 18th of November, the exhibition will offer fans an opportunity to explore the notion of identity through the characters from the popular film series.
With an exclusive collection of over 200 props, models, costumes and artwork from the Star Wars films, Star Wars Identities will allow visitors to be taken on an interactive journey, leaving the experience with their very own personalised Star Wars character.
For nearly 40 years, audiences from across the globe have been enraptured by the adventures of Anakin and Luke Skywalker, cinema’s most famous father and son duo and the exhibition will see people being able to get a completely modern experience of the films and its characters.
The exhibition has been touring the world and is now finally arriving in London from the 18th November until the 3rd September 2017, with tickets going on general sale at 9am on the 30th September.
Star Wars Identities makes an extensive use of the archive collection from the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art to explore the sciences of identity through the characters of Star Wars. It has been produced and developed by Montreal’s X3 Productions in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd.
“This exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the beloved characters of Star Wars,” says Jacques-André Dupont, President and Executive Producer of X3 Productions. “We get a deeper understanding of their identities, and, at the same time, we get a deeper understanding of our own.”
Divided into three major themes (the origins of the characters, the influences that shape them, and the choices they make during their life), the display will then explore 10 components of human identity including genes and species.
While Star Wars Identities will focus on the films, there will also be a strong scientific side to the exhibition, featuring the Montréal Science Centre content experts to gather a team of specialists from a variety of scientific fields, including genetics, neuropsychology, health sciences, and psychology to help create the structure for the display and to develop the theme of identity at the heart of the exhibition.
