The latest animated film from the creators of Shrek hit the technicolour carpet as part of the London Film Festival today (8th October).
Starring Justin Timberlake (also in charge of the film’s soundtrack), Anna Kendrick and James Corden, the new animated film follows the adventures of grumpy troll Branch and the upbeat Poppy as they go on a quest to save Troll Town from the Bergens.
The film is due to be released in the UK on the 15th October, with the soundtrack featuring a mixture of original songs such as Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ and songs by Ariana Grande, Anna Kendrick and Gwen Stefani as well as a range of classic music from the 1960’s to the 1980’s.
Among those who came along to today’s gala, director Mike Mitchell, co-director Walt Dohrn and Gina Shay all took to the multi-coloured carpet to promote the film on a gloomy day in London, made brighter by the vibrant colours everywhere and the tagline ‘Find Your Happy Place’ shining out.
All those who came to the Gala performance were keen to emphasise the film’s upbeat and positive message, suggesting that what this is the film that is needed to provide a couple of hours of escapism from the horrors of what is happening in the world at the moment.
Trolls is the 33rd DreamWorks Animation film, following on from Kung Fu Panda 3 released earlier this year and is only the second DreamWorks Animation music film, after The Prince of Egypt.
Trolls will be released in UK cinemas on the 15th October.
