Among those who came along to today’s gala, director Mike Mitchell, co-director Walt Dohrn and Gina Shay all took to the multi-coloured carpet to promote the film on a gloomy day in London, made brighter by the vibrant colours everywhere and the tagline ‘Find Your Happy Place’ shining out.

All those who came to the Gala performance were keen to emphasise the film’s upbeat and positive message, suggesting that what this is the film that is needed to provide a couple of hours of escapism from the horrors of what is happening in the world at the moment.

Trolls is the 33rd DreamWorks Animation film, following on from Kung Fu Panda 3 released earlier this year and is only the second DreamWorks Animation music film, after The Prince of  Egypt.

Trolls will be released in UK cinemas on the 15th October.
