This new production, directed by Lonny Price, will see Katherine Jenkins making her musical theatre debut as Julie Jordan alongside Alfie Boe who will be playing Billy Bigelow in this semi-staged show.

Fifteen years after getting caught up in an armed robbery and taking his own life, the charming carousel barker Billy Bigelow gets a chance to return to earth and make amends. Discovering that his daughter Louise has grown into a lonely, troubled teenager, haunted by her father’s legacy, Billy vows to restore pride to his family.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical features the songs ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, ‘If I Loved You’, ‘Mister Snow’ and ‘June is Bustin Out All Over’.

Carousel sees Lonny Price return to the London Coliseum, following his productions of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Sunset Boulevard.

The 1945 musical has appeared in the West End numerous times, with the last time being by the Opera North at the Barbican in 2012. In 2008, Carousel starred Lesley Garret in the role of Nettie Fowler.

Alfie Boe and Katherine Jenkins have both performed songs from the musical on their tours and albums but this is the first time that both have taken on the roles in this context.

Just like previous productions, Sweeney Todd and Sunset Boulevard, Carousel will feature a full cast, choir and 40-strong ENO orchestra.

Carousel will play at the London Coliseum from the 7th April until the 13th May 2017. To book tickets visit: Tickemaster.co.uk, Discount Theatre.com, Last Minute.com, Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk, Love Theatre.com, Theatre People.com and UK Tickets.co.uk
