NEWS: Further Casting Confirmed for Carousel at The Coliseum

It has been confirmed that Nicholas Lyndhurst will join Katherine Jenkins and Alfie Boe in the semi-staged production of Carousel at the ENO’s London Coliseum from the 7th April.

Fifteen years after getting caught up in an armed robbery and taking his own life, the charming carousel barker Billy Bigelow gets a chance to return to earth and make amends. Discovering that his daughter Louise has grown into a lonely, troubled teenager, haunted by her father’s legacy, Billy vows to restore pride to his family in the musical voted by Time as the greatest of the 20th Century.

TV and and West End star Nicholas Lyndhurst is best known for his role as Rodney in Only Fools and Horses and will be playing the role of Star Keeper, opposite the previously announced Katherine Jenkins as  Julie Jordan and Alfie Boe as Billy Bigelow.

Also joining the cast will be Brenda Edwards (Nettie Fowler), Derek Hagen (Jigger Craigin), Alex Young (Carrie Pipperidge), Gavin Spokes (Enoch Snow), Susan Kyd (Mrs Mullin), Martyn Ellis (Mr Bascombe) and Davide Fienauri (Carnival Boy), with final casting to be confirmed soon.

Featuring the classic songs ‘June is Bustin’ Out All Over’, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and ‘If I Loved You’, Carousel is directed by Lonny Price who returns to the Coliseum following productions of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Sunset Boulevard. 

The creative team also includes set designs by James Noone, choreography by Josh Rhodes and costume designs by Tracy Christensen.
