The London Musical Theatre Orchestra’s Christmas performance of Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens’ musical will reunite the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels co-stars.
Taking place at the Lyceum Theatre on the 19th December, the London Musical Theatre Orchestra’s festive concert will see Robert Lindsay playing the role of Scrooge with Alex Gaumond as Bob Cratchit.
The pair appeared alongside each other in the West End production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels from November 2014 until the end of its run in March 2015.
Talking about the news Alex Gaumond says: “I had a huge amount of fun working with Robert in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels two years ago and I can’t wait to do it again in this exciting UK premiere of A Christmas Carol. I look forward to hearing Alan Menken’s music soar with a full orchestra.”
Robert Lindsay commented:“Having worked on Alan Menken’s brilliant Galavant for ABC last year and having been such a fan for so many years, I’m really excited about the opportunity of working with him again on A Christmas Carol. It’ll also be a lot of fun to be with my fellow scoundrel, Alex Gaumond”
Also joining the cast will be West End star Gina Murray who will play Mrs Fezziwig, Carrie Hope Fletcher,Giovanna Fletcher, John Addison, Madalena Alberto, Norman Bowman, Hugh Maynard and Peter Polycarpou.
This musical version of Charles Dickens’ classic festive tale had a decade-long success at New York’s Paramount Theatre in Madison Square Garden and now arrives in London in a special concert performance led by the London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
