NEWS: Matthew Bourne’s Production of The Red Shoes Sold Out at New Victoria Theatre

Matthew Bourne’s latest show based on the fairytale and Academy award winning film The Red Shoes has become a sold-out triumph for the New Victoria Theatre in Woking, with no tickets available.

Currently playing to sold out audiences at Sadler’s Wells in London, Matthew Bourne and New Adventures latest hit production will come to the New Victoria Theatre in Woking from the 31st January until the 4th February.

Due to popular demand, tickets for the production at the theatre have now sold out.

The Red Shoes is a tale of obsession and passion and Victoria Page’s dream to become the greatest dancer in the world. But while she lives to dance, her ambitions soon become a battleground for the two men who have inspired her passion.

Bourne’s adaptation of this classic story is set to a score arranged by Terry Davies and using the music of the golden-age Hollywood composer,Bernard Herrmann.

Creating the role of Victoria is Australian dance and New Adventures principal, Ashley Shaw. She has been dancing with the company since 2009 and has previously received rave reviews of her performance as Aurora in Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty.

The creative team for the production includes the Tony and Olivier Award- winning designers Lez Brotherston (Set and Costumes), Paule Constable (Lighting) and Paul Groothuis (Sound Design).

Matthew Bourne’s work has been presented and delighted audiences at the New Victoria Theatre for many years, including performances of Swan Lake, with the all-male chorus, Play Without Words, Edward Scissorhands, Car Man, Nutcracker!, Dorian Gray, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
