NEWS: Initial Casting for London Production of Hamilton Announced

Ahead of general sale tickets going on sale on Monday 30th January, initial casting for the London production of the hit Broadway show has been announced.

Producers Cameron Mackintosh and Jeffrey Seller have today confirmed  the first cast members for the eagerly anticipated West End premiere of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical which opens for previews at the Victoria Palace Theatre in November.

The West End cast will include Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza Hamilton, Giles Terera  as Aaron Burr. It was also confirmed that Rachel John (Angelica Schuyler), Jason Pennycooke (Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Obioma Ugoala (George Washington), Christine Allado (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), Tarinn Callender (Hercules Mulligan/James Madison) and Cleve September (John Laurens/Philip Hamilton) were also joining the cast.

Meanwhile, the roles of Alexander Hamilton and King George will be confirmed at a later date.

Beginning previews at the Victoria Palace on the 21st November, the first booking period for Hamilton runs until the 30th June 2018, with general tickets going on sale on Monday 30th January at 12pm.

Hamilton is a hip-hop musical that tells the story of one of America’s founding fathers Alexander Hamilton, a role originally played on Broadway by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The story follows Hamilton from being an immigrant from the West Indies to becoming George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War.

The production is directed by Thomas Kail as well as a book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Choreography is by Andy Blankenbuehler with musical direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.
