It has been announced that the Eastenders star will be coming to Woking this Christmas to star in the New Victoria Theatre’s 2017 pantomime Robin Hood.

The Woking based theatre and Qdos Entertainment confirmed that Shane Richie will lead this year’s cast for Robin Hood, playing at the New Victoria Theatre from the 9th December.

Join the most heroic outlaw of them all as the arrow-shooting hero Robin Hood strives to win the hand of the beautiful Maid Marion while he and his trusty band of Merry Men outwit the evil Sheriff of Nottingham in a show packed full of comedy, action, adventure and plenty of glitz and glamour!

As well as being known for his role as Alfie Moon in Eastenders, the actor’s television credits also include appearances in  Skins, New Tricks, Minder and What We Did on Our Holidays. Meanwhile on stage, he has starred as Danny Zuko in the West End production of Grease and Boogie Nights, which he co-wrote and co-produced on tour and in the West End.

The pantomime will be produced by Qdos Entertainment in partnership with ATG. Talking about the news Michael Harrison, Managing Director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division said: “We are absolutely delighted to begin an all-new working relationship with the New Victoria Theatre bringing the magic of our pantomimes to Surrey audiences and are thrilled that Shane Richie is leading our cast in a show packed full of comedy, action, adventure and plenty of glitz and glamour!”

Meanwhile,Simon Thomsett, General Manager, New Victoria Theatre, Woking said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the sensational Shane Richie to the New Victoria Theatre in a brand new title for the venue, Robin Hood. We look forward to Shane helping to bring a heroic close to our 25th Anniversary year. Who wants to see this ultimate pantomime adventure – we Sherwood!”

Further casting for the pantomime is expected to be announced over the coming months.
