The New Victoria Theatre in Woking has confirmed further casting for this year’s pantomime, which will run at the theatre from the 9th December.
The theatre has announced that joining the previously announced Shane Richie as Robin Hood, Comedian and actor Peter Piper will join the cast as Friar Tuck, while West End star Ashleigh Gray will take the role of The Spirit of Sherwood in the production.
Peter Piper is best known for starring in ITV’s acclaimed sketch show 5 Alive, which won the New York Festival of Comedy Award. American success soon followed including roles in Party of Five, The Martin Short Show, Tarzan and Acapulco H.E.A.T. He also worked as a voiceover artist for Disney and Paramount lending his versatile vocal talents to Black Beauty, The Patriot Games (part one and two) and Pocahontas with Mel Gibson.
Meanwhile, Ashleigh Gray has performed in a wide number of shows including The Secret Garden, Vanities, Taboo, Grease, Cool Rider, and Betwixt! But she is probably best known for her performance as Elphaba in Wicked – both on tour and in London, a role which she played for eight years.
Shane Richie will be taking on the title role in the production and is best known for his role as Alfie Moon in BBC’s Eastenders.
Join the most heroic outlaw of them all as the arrow-shooting hero Robin Hood strives to win the hand of the beautiful Maid Marion while he and his trusty band of Merry Men outwit the evil Sheriff of Nottingham in a show packed full of comedy, action, adventure and plenty of glitz and glamour!
