From the 7th to the 28th July, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council will present, for the first time in London, the Hong Kong Music Series in several locations across the capital.

The series will present music and artists from the region to explore the cultural history and current musical present of Hong Kong on an international stage.

Opening with the Musical Interflow – a Dialogue of Two Cultures at St John’s Smith Square, the programme will present five diverse music productions that presents everything from classical to contemporary and jazz, from Chinese music theatre to pop and chamber opera.

Other events taking place as part of the programme includes Hong Kong Episodes at Wilton’s Music Hall (7th and 8th July), Music Lab: Fingerman X Beloved Clara X SMASH at Wilton’s Music Hall (10th and 11th July), Beyond the Senses – Atmospheric Music Theatre by Law Wing-fai at Shaw Theatre (15th July), Datong: The Chinese Utopia at Richmond Theatre (27th and 28th July).

The Hong Kong Music Series is funded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR) as an accredited event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.
