The actress has released her debut single ‘Supermodel’ – here’s Love London Love Culture’s thoughts about it….
For anyone who has seen her performance as Fanny Brice in the critically acclaimed production of Funny Girl, they will know just how well she can sing as a musical theatre actress.
But now she is branching out with this gorgeous sounding debut single which highlights the lovely soulful quality of her voice as well as revealing hidden depths to her voice that can perhaps be missed in the theatre.
‘Supermodel’ is a classy and confident sounding song, that combines a sassy attitude with just a hint of vulnerability that keeps the listener hooked from beginning to end.
It is the first single taken from her upcoming debut album which will be feature a collection of original songs designed to showcase her expressive voice as well as classic songs inspired by Northern soul and her love of trawling through vintage record stores.
As a first single, ‘Supermodel’ might seem quietly understated on the surface but it also knows how to pack a punch lyrically and offers an insight into what fans can expect from the rest of the album, which will be released early 2018.
After listening to the song, you can’t help but eagerly anticipate what could be coming on the upcoming album which will be titled ‘Real’. A great new song from a fabulous singer.
