Translated by Christopher Hampton and directed by Ellie Jones and based on the original Old Vic production, the UK tour is set to open at Cambridge Arts Theatre   on the 14th February 2018.

It has been announced today that the cast is set to include Nigel Havers (Chariots of Fire, Coronation Street), Denis Lawson (Bleak House, New Tricks) and Stephen Tompkinson (DCI Banks, Ballykissangel) .

Talking about the news David Pugh said, “It is twenty years since Dafydd [Rogers] and I first produced the comedy masterpiece ART in the West End, and the original post-London tour played for 78 weeks.  This time, we want to break our own record; in fact, we want to play as many theatres as Sir Ken Dodd has played in his wonderful career, and with this marvellous cast, we think we have every chance!”

After its run at the Cambridge Arts Theatre, the production will then tour to:

Plymouth Theatre Royal 26 February – 3 March 2018

Newcastle Theatre Royal 5 – 10 March 2018

Yasmina Reza’s comedy follows three friends Serge, Marc and Yvan whose friendship is put on the line when Serge, indulging his penchant for modern art, buys a large, expensive, completely white painting. Soon an argument takes place about what constitutes as ‘art’.

This production will feature designs by Mark Thompson, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Mic Pool, original music by Gary Yershon and fight direction by Terry King.
