Tom Fletcher has confirmed a new edition of the book will include a CD which contains 14 songs which have never been heard before, the first time an author has  written a soundtrack to their novel.

Written and performed by the author, the tracks are accompanied by a full orchestra, alongside solos from Giovanna Fletcher and  Carrie Hope-Fletcher. Readers are given prompts throughout the story to tell them when to press play with lyrics included to sing along to.

Talking about the news the author said: “This book all began with a song. It was called… ’The Christmasaurus’! That song inspired this whole story and as I began writing the book I wrote more songs that helped me tell the story and bring the characters to life. The book was released last year, but I knew that somehow I wanted to get these songs out there too. I see them as a soundtrack to the book and, while the book can be read on its own, just as the songs can be listened to without reading the book, you only get the full story when you combine the two.”

It has also been announced who will be the special guests appearing alongside him for The Christmasaurus – Live On Stage, taking place at the Eventim Apollo London for a   strictly limited run from 21 – 28 December 2017. Harry Judd, Matt Willis, his wife Giovanna Fletcher and his sister Carrie Hope Fletcher will all appear on stage for this family show.

The show will include all of the new songs and is directed by Derek Bond. The story has been adapted for the stage by Miranda Larson

The Christmasaurus Musical Edition will be released on the 16th November. Meanwhile, The Christmasaurus Live On Stage  will play at the Eventim Apollo from the 21st to the 28th December. To book tickets visit: Ticketmaster.co.uk
