PREVIEW: Hedda Gabler, New Victoria Theatre

The National Theatre’s acclaimed production will come to the New Victoria Theatre as part of its UK tour from the 29th January until the 3rd February 2018.

Hedda and Tesman have just returned from their honeymoon and the relationship is already in trouble. Trapped but determined, Hedda tries to control and manipulate those around her, only to see her own world unravel.

This new acclaimed production is currently touring the UK, following a successful run at the National Theatre. Ibsen’s play was adapted by Olivier Award-winning playwright Patrick Marber and is directed by Ivo van Hove.

The role of Hedda Gabler is being played on tour by Lizzie Watts, who is joined on stage by Annabel Bates, Adam Best, Cate Cammock, Abhin Galeya, Christine Kavanagh, Madlena Nedeva  and Richard Pyros.

Meanwhile, the creative team behind the production includes set and lighting design  by Jan Versweyveld, with costume design by An D’Huys and sound by Tom Gibbons.  The Associate Directors are Jeff James and Rachel Lincoln.
