Having originally directed to world premiere at the Donmar Warehouse in 2009, Michael Grandage will direct this revival, set to star Alfred Molina and Alfred Enoch.

Under the watchful gaze of his young assistant, and the threatening presence of a new generation of artists, Mark Rothko takes on his greatest challenge yet: to create a definitive work for an extraordinary setting.

This revival will reunite John Logan and Michael Grandage, who last collaborated on Peter and Alice with Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw which formed part of MGC’s inaugural season in the West End in 2013.

Alfred Molina will reprise his role as Rothko, a role which he played in the original London production and the Broadway transfer in 2010. He is best known for his appearances in films such as  Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Da Vinci Code and Chocolat.

He is joined in the production by Alfred Enoch, best known for his role as Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter films. His previous stage credits include Coriolanus at the Donmar Warehouse, Antigone at the National Theatre and Happy New at the Old Red Lion.

The production will feature set and costume design by Christopher Oram, lighting by Neil Austin and sound deisgn by Adam Cork.

Red will play at the Wyndham’s Theatre from the  4th May until the 28th July. To book tickets click here  or visit:  Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk
