First Impressions of… Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

A new trailer for the latest instalment in the Jurassic Park series – but does it offer up anything that we should be excited about?

It seems there is still very much an appetite for this film franchise to expand and evolve as this new trailer for Fallen Kingdom shows.

As well as a few insights into some of the action sequences that audiences can expect (which do look as though they make full use of CGI and show just how far technology has become important in film making), the trailer also shows the return of Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm to the franchise and a couple of subplots which will either work really well in the context of the film or make it fall flat on its face.

Everything about the trailer seems to suggest a film which is over the top and dramatic to the point it could possibly be in danger of being slightly ridiculous and make audiences wonder if this addition to the film series was really necessary.

However, it is also clear that Fallen Kingdom will hopefully try and retain many of the elements that made the original film brilliant including its sense of adventure and the ability to keep you on the edge of your seat.

At the moment the main concern is the idea of a rescue mission for dinosaurs about to become extinct all over again because the island they are on is about to explode seems a little elaborate and over the top – even by the other Jurassic Park films standards that it makes the series itself seem even more unbelievable.

But there is no denying that this is a film that is probably eagerly anticipated by the films fans and it will be interesting to see what reactions to the film will be like.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released in cinemas next year.
