Production images for the National Theatre production of Macbeth have been released.

The ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeths are propelled towards the crown by forces of elemental darkness.

Directed by Rufus Norris, Anne-Marie Duff and Rory Kinnear star in the production as Lady Macbeth and Macbeth. They are joined on stage by Nadia Albina, Michael Balogun, Stephen Boxer, Trevor Fox, Andrew Frame, Kevin Harvey, Hannah Hutch, Nicholas Karimi, Joshua Lacey, Penny Layden, Anna-Maria Nabirye, Amaka Okafor, Patrick O’Kane, Hauk Pattison, Alana Ramsey, Beatrice Scirocchi, Rakhee Sharma and Parth Thakera.

The production features set design by Rae Smith, costume design by Moritz Junge, lighting design by James Farncombe and sound design by Paul Arditti.

The production will be broadcast live to cinemas worldwide on the 10th May as part of NT Live. Hundreds of Travelex tickets are also available for every performance at £15.
