Classic Spring has announced further casting for its upcoming production of An Ideal Husband, playing at the Vaudeville Theatre from the 20th April.

It has been confirmed that joining the previously announced Edward and Freddie Fox as  the  Earl of Caversham and Lord Goring and Frances Barber Mrs Cheveley,  Sally Bretton and Nathaniel Parker will join the cast to play Lady Chiltern and Sir Robert Chiltern.

Sally Bretton is best known for her role in the long-running BBC series Not Going Out, starring alongside Lee Mack. Her stage credits include King Lear at Shakespeare’s Globe and her other screen credits include Absolute PowerGreen Wing and The Office.

Nathaniel Parker has starred on stage as Henry VIII  in the RSC’s Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies in the West End and on Broadway. His other stage credits include The Audience with Helen Mirren and James Graham’s This House in the West End.

An Ideal Husband explores corruption and morality, bringing an act of political sin into the heart of the English home. An ambitious government minister, Sir Robert Chiltern’s smooth ascent to the top seems assured. Until Mrs Cheveley appears in London with damning proof of his past financial chicanery.

The production is directed by Jonathan Church, whose credits include Singin’ in the Rain and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui – both at the Chichester Festival and the West End.
