Directed by Jo Davies and presented by Opera North, Cole Porter’s musical is a celebration of the theatre and the drama on and off-stage that it produces.

Set both on and off-stage during the production of a musical version of The Taming of the Shrew, Kiss Me, Kate revolves around the tempestuous love lives of actor-manager Fred Graham and his leading lady and ex-wife, Lilli Vanessi. Throw in Fred’s current paramour Lois Lane, her gambler boyfriend Bill – and a couple of gangsters who somehow get caught up in the show – and the stage is set for a funny and farcical battle of the sexes!

The cast is set to include Stephanie Corley, who has previously appeared in Opera North’s The Merry Widow, will play Lilli Vanessi/Kate, while  Quirijn de Lang will play Fred Graham/Petruchio, the role he played in Opera North’s original 2015 production.

They will be joined on stage by Zoë Rainey, who appeared in the West End as Milo Davenport in An American in Paris, Alan Burkitt , Joseph Shovelton and John Savournin.  The cast also includes Aiesha Pease, Stephanie Anelli, James Hayes, Jack Wilcox and Malcom Ridley.

Meanwhile, the creative team includes choreography by Will Tuckett, set and costume design by Colin Richmond, lighting by Ben Cracknell and the production will be conducted by James Holmes.

Kiss Me Kate will play at the London Coliseum from the 20th to the 30th June. To book tickets click here or visit: Encore Tickets, Love Theatre.com, Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk, Last Minute.com or See Tickets
