Rehearsals are underway for the revival of D.H Lawrence’s The Daughter-in-Law, playing at the Arcola Theatre from the 23rd May. Here’s a glimpse of what has been happening…

Receiving its first London revival in over 15 years, The Daughter-in-Law first premiered in a Peter Gill production at the Royal Court Theatre in the 1960s.
Minnie has big ambitions for her new marriage to Luther Gascoyne, but Luther’s mother Mrs Gascoyne has ideas of her own. When she discovers explosive news about one of Luther’s old flames, Mrs Gascoyne lays the battle-lines for an emotional struggle that could tear the whole family apart.

This new production is directed by Jack Gamble and is set to star: Harry Hepple (Luther Gascoyne), Ellie Nunn (Minnie Gascoyne),Veronica Roberts (Mrs Gascoyne), Matthew Biddulph (Joe Gascoyne) and Tessa Bell-Briggs (Mrs Purdy).
Meanwhile, the creative team includes: designs by Louie Whitemore, lighting by Geoff Hense and sound by Dinah Mullen. It is a co-production between the Arcola Theatre and Dippermouth.
