Love London Love Culture’s Picks of the Week: Sunday 10th February

  1. Review of Ghost the Musical at the New Victoria Theatre: this week saw LLLC’s Emma Clarendon paying a visit to catch the new UK tour of Ghost – does it live up to expectations?
  2. Interview with Raphael Akuwudike: this week we chatted to Raphael about his role in The Jumper Factory at the Young Vic Theatre from the 27th February.
  3. Review of Dracula at the London Library: Creation Theatre’s production arrived in London this week for a limited run. LLLC sent Kirsty Herrington along to find out what it is like…
  4. The news that Union J’s Jaymi Hensley is set to star in new UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat: it was confirmed earlier this week that Jaymi will be taking on the role of Joseph in the new UK tour which kicks off on the 20th February.
  5. Review of Mandela: The Official Exhibition:this week has also seen the opening of this exhibition open in London before embarking on a global tour later this year. You can catch up with Emma Clarendon’s review now.
  6. News that brand new musical The View Upstairs will open at the Soho Theatre later this year: details were released for the upcoming production that will begin performances at the Soho Theatre on the 18th July. It will be the European premiere of the LGBTQ+ musical, following successful runs Off-Broadway, multiple regional US productions and recent Australian premiere.
  7. Review of Avenue Q: fans of this puppet crazy musical rejoice! Avenue Q is back and ready to tour the UK again. This week it officially opened at the New Wimbledon Theatre, with LLLC’s review live now!
  8. Review Round Up: Superhoe, Royal Court Theatre: Love London Love Culture has rounded up the reviews for Nicôle Lecky’s debut play, running at the theatre until the 16th February.
  9. News of The Night of the Iguana: this Tennessee Williams play is set to be revived in the West End this year it has been confirmed. Playing at the Noel Coward Theatre from the 6th July, it is set to star Clive Owen and Lia Williams.
  10. Details of new Sweet Charity production released: Josie Rourke is set to direct a new production of Sweet Charity at the Donmar Warehouse as her final production for the theatre. Casting is set to be confirmed in due course.
