The production is set to transfer to the West End from the 25th February for a strictly limited season.
Full casting has now been announced for the new musical based on the popular television show, which will play at the Noel Coward Theatre from the 25th February until the 13th May following its run at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham this summer.
The production’s transfer will see West End and Broadway star John Owen Jones reprising his starring role as judge Phil Hollinghurst. The production is also set to star: Scott Paige also reprises his role as a presenter along with the original cast of musical professionals who play the contestants;, Claire Moore, Catriana Sandison , Charlotte Wakefield , Damian Humbley, Jay Saighal Michael Cahill , and making his West End debut Aharon Rayner. They will be joined by Haydn Gwynne as Pam Lee, the iconically stylish, sharp-tongued judge, along with Zoe Birkett as one half of the comedy presenter duo Kim and Grace Mouat will play contestant Izzy. Georgie Westall, Stuart Hickey and Jamil Abbasi, making his West End debut, join as understudies and Aanya Shah, Amelie Rouse and Maisy Mein will share the child role of Lily.
Follow the trials and tribulations of our bakers as they enter the hallowed tent, including a policeman, a carer, a sixth form student, a retired dinner lady, an environmentalist vegan, an Italian fashionista, and more, as they come together to share their journeys of friendship, love, and laughter.
Created in association with with Creative Director and Executive Producer Richard McKerrow and the producers of the TV phenomenon, Love Productions, the musical features an original score by Jake Brunger (book and lyrics) and Pippa Cleary (music and lyrics).
Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, the creative team behind the production includes: choreographer Georgina Lamb, set, costume and cake designer Alice Power, lighting designer Ben Cracknell, sound designer Ben Harrison, orchestrations Tom Curran, musical supervisor Mark Collins, assistant musical director Chris Poon and casting director Jim Arnold CDG.
