The musical is to return to the Dominion Theatre to have a run over the Summer from the 2nd June.

It has been announced that the production (which recently received four WhatsOnStage Award nominations) directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Arlene Phillips will return to London next Summer.

The classic musical follows the story of Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski, high school sweethearts who are reunited at Rydell High for their senior year. Jim Jacobs & Warren Casey’s musical features the classic songs  “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Greased Lightnin’”, and “Summer Nights.”

While casting for next Summer’s run has yet to be announced, the production features designs by Colin Richmond, orchestrations and musical supervision by Sarah Travis, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound design by Tom Marshall and Richard Brooker, video and projection design by Douglas O’Connell and casting by David Grindrod CDG.

Grease originally opened in Chicago in 1971 followed by a move to Broadway in 1972, where it received seven Tony Award nominations, including one for Best Musical. During the show’s eight-year run at the time, little known actors including Peter Gallagher, Patrick Swayze and John Travolta all appeared in the production, with Richard Gere understudying many roles before going on to star as Danny Zuko in the 1973 London premiere.

This production of Grease has been produced by Colin Ingram for InTheatre Productions, Donovan Mannato, Playing Field, Gavin Kalin, and Curve.

Grease will play at the Dominion Theatre from the 2nd June until the 28th October 2023. Book your tickets here.
