The production will begin performances at the theatre from the 11th February.

Full casting has been announced for Dominic Cooke’s production, which will officially open at the @SohoPlace on the 17th February. Joining the previously announced Sophie Okonedo (Medea) and Ben Daniels (Jason/Creon/Aegeus) will be: Marion Bailey (Nurse), Penny Layden (3rd Woman of Corinth), Jo McInnes (1st Woman of Corinth) and Amy Trigg (2nd Woman of Corinth) with understudies Alicia Charles, Leda Hodgson and Tom Peters.
This production of the play by Eurippides has been adapted for the stage by Robinson Jeffers and sees director Dominic Cooke collaborating once more with Sophie Okonedo and Ben Daniels, most recently on BBC’s The Hollow Crown – Wars of the Roses, in addition to working together across multiple stage productions since the 1990s.
Medea tells the story of a woman laid bare by grief and rage, and her terrible quest for revenge against the men who have abandoned her.
The creative team behind the production is set to include designs by Vicki Mortimer, lighting by Neil Austin and sound by Gareth Fry.
