The show will head to the iconic London venue from the 11th January 2024.

It has been announced that from January 2024, the Royal Albert Hall will welcome back Cirque Du Soleil and the company’s show Alegría which has been redesigned for audiences to either discover for the first time or see it afresh.

At the heart of a kingdom that has lost its king, Alegría witnesses the power struggle at play between the old order and the youth in strive for hope and renewal. With its unforgettable soundtrack, exciting acrobatics, surreal costumes, vibrant sets and playful humor, Alegría unfolds a touching immersive experience imbued with a joyous magical feeling – a quintessential Cirque du Soleil spectacle.

The show originally premiered in 1994 and performed  to over 14 million people in 40 countries until the end of its 19-year world tour in 2013. The original production visited London on five occasions and will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024.

Alegría was then revived in 2019 and creatively reinterpreted in a new light, ensuring that all its components – stage direction, music, acrobatics, sets, costumes, lighting & makeup designs will still have the same impact on audiences today as it did when it originally premiered. The cast will be formed of 62 acrobats, clowns, musicians, and singers.

This will be the latest Royal Albert Hall residency for the company, which began in 1996 and last year’s show KURIOS: Cabinet of Curiosities became  the bestselling Cirque du Soleil show ever in the UK.
