Here’s a guide to some of our most popular reads in 2023…

First day of rehearsal images for A Little Life released: one of the most anticipated shows to open this year was the English premiere of A Little Life, based on the acclaimed novel by Hanya Yanagihara and it is no surprise that getting a glimpse into the rehearsal rooms was one of the most popular reads on the website this year!

Interview with Sharon Sexton: given the love and fan base of Bat Out of Hell the musical, our interview with Sharon discussing the show (which returned to London earlier this year) has equally proved popular with readers in the last year.

Review of Luxury and Power: Persia to Greece at the British Museum: we paid a visit to the museum to catch its dazzling exhibition, exploring the similarities between Persi and Greece. Fascinating and engaging, it was an exhibition that had plenty of material to explore making it feel like a real treat!

Review of Freddie Mercury: World of His Own, Sotheby’s: it feels as though this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a glimpse of Freddie Mercury’s belongings which were auctioned off following the display. Neatly and concisely displayed, it made you feel as though you got to know the man behind the celebrity through his belongings (of which many were stunning – not least his piano!).

Review of Peter Pan, New Victoria Theatre Woking: the theatre’s annual pantomime was a real riot from start to finish – particularly given the fact that Paul Chuckle and Anton Du Beke were right at the heart of it all made it a really joyous experience to enjoy! Well worth a visit.

Review of Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons, Harold Pinter Theatre: sharp, warm, thought-provoking and quirky in the way in which it is structured and thought out in a way that stays with you after the curtain has fallen. It was also a privilege to see Aidan Turner and Jenna Coleman performing together.

Interview with Jason Hogan: ahead of the West End run of Dr Semmelweis at the Harold Pinter Theatre, we chatted to the actor about starring in the production and bringing a true life story to the stage.

Interview with Kanako Nakano: with the Menier Chocolate Factory reviving Stephen Sondheim’s Pacific Overtures, we chatted to Kanako about bringing this musical back to London.

Review of Disney100: The Exhibition, ExCel London: we indulged in our inner child with this nostalgic exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Disney. Filled with original artefacts and drawings, it is an exhibition that aims to please – no matter what your age is!

Review of Crown to Couture, Kensington Palace: this was an exquisitely displayed exhibition, which compares how red carpet events and the Georgian court had many similarities in the way in which both used fashion to make a statement. Set against the backdrop of Kensington Palace, it was certainly a very glamorous display of costumes and outfits that made it a real stand out of the year.
