Books to Look Out For in March 2024…

Here’s our picks of books being published this month.

The House of Hidden Meanings by Ru Paul: taking reader through his childhood all the way to global stardom, Ru Paul reveals all about his determination to succeed and how he became a strong force of good for the LGBTQ+. Written with his trademark wit and wisdom, Ru Paul strips back the glamour to offer a raw but heartfelt memoir.  it is set to be published on the 5th March.

The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden: this is the new historical fantasy novel from the author of The Bear and the Nightingale . Set in World War One, the story follows that of a Canadian nurse who is searching for her brother believed dead in the trenches despite eerie signs that suggest otherwise. It is set to be published on the 7th March.

Diva by Daisy Goodwin: this new novel from the author of My Last Duchess is a reimagining of the life of opera singer Maria Callas and her relationship with Aristotle Onassis. Through her novel, Daisy Goodwin brings to life this extraordinary woman and how she overcame many obstacles in her life. Having enjoyed her previous novels, I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds hen it is published on the 14th March.

Medea by Rosie Hewlett: it is always difficult to resist a new interpretation of a Greek story – particularly when it is such a dark story, featuring at its centre is one of mythology’s most complex female characters. It is a a real opportunity to re-evaluate Medea as a character and I’m intrigued by the prospect. It is published on the 21st March .

The Divorcees by Rowan Beaird: set in 1950’s Reno, this debut novel explores female friendship and freedom as seen through the eyes of one woman trying to forge a new life in the wake of a divorce. Its setting and premise sounds intriguing and it is always good to discover a new author….
