We take a look at what is being said about this children’s show, playing at the theatre until the 21st April.

The Guardian: “There’s a lot of amusement and delight in this lively adaptation of the kids’ picture book Bear Snores On, originally created by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman, and given new life here by co-writers and directors Katy Sechiari and Cush Jumbo (the actor, quite the switch of direction since her last role playing Lady Macbeth).”
Time Out: **** “For the first time in its 92-year history, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has opened its doors in March. And it’s absolutely worth it: the deliciously bonkers, endlessly inventive, and extremely funny ‘Bear Snores On’ is one of the best kids’ shows I’ve seen in an age.”
The Stage: ***** “Open Air Theatre’s first spring show is a funny, sunny production co-written and directed by Cush Jumbo and Katy Sechiari.”

Broadway World: ***** “Bear Snores On is a stunning production that will bring joy not only to the young ones but to people of all ages. Each of the performers are incredible and it is a pleasure to watch them sing, dance and act. The creative choices made by Jumbo, Sechiari, Blake and the entire team have breathed new life into the classic book, bringing the characters to life in a magical way. Bear may snore on, but Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is alive and thriving!”
Musical Theatre Review: ***** “This show is definitely one for the creatives to feel proud of and which you and your young children should catch if you possibly can.”
Kilburn Times: **** “With enough ingredients to make a vegetable stew, the party is on. Music and lyrics by Harry Blake are punchy; Spice it Up with its mix of jungle and rave beats was a particular hit, and all audience members are lent a neon wristband to rave along with.”

WhatsOnStage: ***** “Bear Snores On is not unique in its respect and joy for family theatre but it is a particularly strong example of the value of properly written, performed and designed work for youngsters. It’s a show that takes children’s theatre seriously without taking itself seriously – the perfect balance which the absolutely enraptured audience proved. The risk of an early season start has more than paid off.”
Harrow Times: **** “Overall, children were delighted as Bear took to the dancefloor, his lonely existence finally over.”
