The 2017 film will be transformed into a full stage musical.
Disney confirmed the news of the stage musical as part of D23 convention, which concludes today.
The musical film which explores the life and career of circus entertainer PT Barnum starred Hugh Jackman, Zendaya, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Keala Settle.
First premiering in 2017, it features music by composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, whose other work includes: Dear Evan Hansen, Dogfight and A Christmas Story. Songs featured in The Greatest Showman include “The Greatest Show”, “A Million Dreams”, “Rewrite the Stars” and “From Now On”.
In a statement, Disney said: “The stage adaptation of The Greatest Showman, featuring the Academy Award-nominated songs of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, will announce production timetable, creative team, and cast at a later date.”
